Frequently asked questions

If I track my activity at the gym with a fitness device or mobile app, will I earn Vitality points?

Yes, you can earn a maximum of eight Vitality points per day and 40 points per week for getting active, so you can earn five points per day for visiting the gym and another three points for tracking your activity with a compatible fitness device or mobile app.

Once I’ve purchased Vitality health or life insurance, when can I join the gym?

You will receive an email from us the day after you purchase a plan unless you have purchased on a Friday or Saturday in which case you will receive the email on Monday. This email will contain a unique voucher code and step-by-step instructions. All existing members will have to show their Vitality membership number and proof of identity at their selected club.

How do I know if the club I'd like to join offers the discount?

Vitality members can use this offer at Virgin Active. Where there is not a Virgin Active nearby you can join selected Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Clubs or selected David Lloyd Clubs. See the full list of clubs included for more details.

Why isn't the club I'd like to join eligible for discount?

Vitality members can only join selected Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Clubs and selected David Lloyd Clubs due to our relationship with other gym partners.

Do I need to have Vitality to get the gym offer?

Yes, you need to be a Vitality member to be eligible for the gym discount offer.

Important information

*Each adult member on an eligible Vitality plan can have one discounted membership at either Virgin Active, Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing or David Lloyd.

Discounted Virgin Active gym fees apply to flexible individual monthly membership. Membership is not available at Chiswick Riverside Health & Racquet Club. The joining fee is normally £50 for all clubs other than Classic Collection clubs where joining fees are normally £75. 

The Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing discount is available at selected clubs. Applies to one month contracts. A joining fee of £30 will apply.

Up to 50% off Individual Flexible Platinum membership fees at selected David Lloyd Clubs. A joining fee of £60 will apply.
